For those of you who inactive, but not officially DFd/DAd, how do you manage?
by undercover ini read with interest the thread about how people who are mentally out yet still attend (some) meetings manage to do continue to do it and it got me wondering, how do those of us who are completely inactive, no longer practicing members of the faith, manage to pull off our new ex-jw life, yet never invite scrutiny or investigation from former friends, elders, etc.. take me, for example.
i've been out several years now, but have never officially renounced my faith.
i've never out and out called it a crock of shit to anyone who could make real trouble for me.

It's only been a little over 3 months since I last attended a meeting. I've only seen a couple of the local dubs, but nothing has been said about my absence. I've moved on, and I'm busy doing what I want to do without too much concern about what they might think about it. Since I don't have any family in the borg it's really not too big of a deal. I never really made close friends in the congregation, so there's none of that to miss either.

Not unless there was an actual emergency, like the time the baby barfed down my dress during book study. But I did refuse to attend some of the circuit assembly sessions - 3 solid days in a boring meeting with little kids to try to keep quiet - no thanks.

My thoughts on this years Special assembly day
by stillstuckcruz inopening comments: so this past weekend was out special assembly, so obviously supplied by jehovah.
we also had the "privelege" of having a gb representative at our assembly hall.
3/4 were young and my guess would be that those were born-ins.

I'd rather have my wisdom teeth cut out again than have to sit through an assembly.

Circumcision and Jehovah's Witnesses - a personal account with research
by PrimateDave ini wrote this article to post on this forum because of the pain that i felt at one time.
i know that i can never get any acknowledgment from the watchtower bible and tract society because they could never admit that infant male circumcision is mutilation and abuse.
if for some reason some of you believe with all your heart that circumcision is a good thing, i would request that you read this with an open mind.

We didn't circ our boys. I figure they can get cut when they are grown if it suits them. Not my penis = not my decision.

I don't think any of the local dubs have done street work in the last 15 years LOL. But I'm not sneaking around and hiding what I am doing, so I'm sure they are aware that I've become a dirty apostate

NOT ME!!!! I slept in, drank coffee, had a smoothie for breakfast. Then I started on chores - burned some boxes I needed to get rid of, emptied a bunch of litteratrash into the garbage, and finished stripping the wallpaper in the entry hall. After dinner we went to the grocery store and I bought Easter baskets for the kids.
I would dump all my litteratrash at once, but there's a limit to how much I'm allowed to put out each week.

Really, I think any organization that is exempt from taxes should be required to provide 100% transparency.. Organizations - including religions - that don't spend an appropriate majority of their income on genuine humanitarian efforts (not self-serving efforts like distributing literature) should lose exempt status.
I think this is a terrific idea. Any group who wants to be exempt from income tax, sales tax, or property tax should have to publish full financial statements. Any group with more than $1,000,000 in revenue should have to hire an outside CPA to audit the books every year.
